This Saturday, our Marching Firebirds will be in neighborhoods for our annual "Donation Day" Fundraiser. The generosity and support of the Kettering Community has been a long-time benefit to supporting the fine young adults who make up our band program.

Kids have many options on how they spend their time outside of school in 2026, and these talented individuals choose to spend countless hours bettering themselves as musicians and people, all while supporting their school and community.

It has been a tremendously positive and exciting start to the year in our Exploratory Music classes at Kettering Fairmont Middle School.

Today, our music teaching team discussed the possibilities that lie ahead for our next generation of Firebird musicians, whether as members of the band, choir, orchestra, or a combination of these programs as they progress through the music department.

Following a demonstration of each instrument/voice, our teachers wrapped up the session with a performance of the Fairmont Fight Song!

Tomorrow will begin a lot of squeaks and squawks in the classrooms that will lead to beautiful music in no time!

It was great to have all of our Firebird musicians and staff back in the buildings this week!

Just that quickly, it is time to begin promoting one of our very first events for the school year, and it is always a highlight of the fall--the Kettering Performing Arts Hall of Fame Concert and Induction Ceremony.

We are honored to recognize Fairmont graduates Ryan Chatterton and Danielle Kelley, alongside former Kettering educator Ryan Borger. Congratulations to these outstanding individuals!

We hope you'll make plans to join us at Fairmont High School on Monday, September 21 at 7:00 PM in our auditorium. The evening will feature performances from the Fairmont Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Chorale, and Wind Symphony, in addition to the induction ceremony.

16 Years! Congratulations to our students, staff, and families! The Kettering City Schools have again been recognized as a "Best Community for Music Education" by the NAMM Foundation.

To be considered, districts must complete a rigorous application examining graduation requirements, staffing, student participation and programming, instructional time, quality of performance facilities, and more.

Many thanks to the Kettering community for continuously supporting the arts as an integral piece of the Kettering City Schools!
