Peaches Pics Photography - Naona "Peaches" Wallin Caberet or
my website www.peachespics.com My passion for photographing wildlife and wildlands stems from my childhood living in the Southeast Alaska bush.

Nature Loving, Nature Photographer
Based in Ketchikan, Alaska
Landscape, Nightscape, Wildlife, Wildlands ,
High Quality Float Mount Metal Prints
available locally @ The Creek St. For three years, we lived off-grid on a remote island homestead only accessible by boat or float plane. Day-to-day living relied on observing nature: the weather, the tides, and the seasons. While learning to read the landscape, I formed a deep connection with the natural world. My admiration for beauty in the Alaskan wild developed into a nature-inspired artistic intuition. When I'm in nature, my creativity comes alive.

After I took this photo I found out a very good friend of mine has passed. She had been battling breast cancer for several years.

The photo op seemed fitting as she loved Ward Lake, the rain and nature photography as much as I do. ❤️ RIP Bonbon

🌦 If you click on the photo and pinch-zoom in, you can see water droplets suspended in the air‼️

🌲💕Being a nature lover who lives in a temperate rainforest, I've always admired the dramatic clouds when the sun is shining and it's raining simultaneously. 🌦

Recently, I learned that this phenomenon is called a sun-shower. In my rabbit-hole research, I was surprised to find many regional and international names and sayings for this weather wonder.

I'm curious: do you have a name or saying for the moment when the sun is shining, and it's raining at the same time❓

And if so, where do you live❓

I was surprised to find an intact Pacific sand dollar (Echinarachnius parma) shell as the beach was cross-crossed with tire tracks.

The sand dollar skeleton or "test" made a good natural subject to give a sense of scale to the tiny bird feather nearby.

🦆🐣🌲3yrs ago today a group of five Cedar Waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum) swooped down a couple feet ahead of me and landed in this Mountain Ash tree!

🦆🐣I saw two of five close enough to identify them as adult Cedar Waxwing and three juveniles.

🐣🐣In this video you can see a juvenile perched on a branch and hear others calling in the background.

A day of remembrance for those who lost their lives, their loved ones and all the people who were affected by the devastating events of 9/11.

9.11.17 🌈 Cell phone pano of a rainbow over the Bear Valley neighborhood in Ketchikan. With Deer Mountian in the distance on the far right.

A rainbow seems a fitting way to remember those lives lost and the many families affected by the tragic events that unfolded, on this fateful day, in 2001. 😰

Like many others who witness tragic historical events, I remember exactly what I was doing when I first heard about the attacks. I turned on the TV were the video of a plane crashing into the twin towers played on repeat.
