🎨🖌️🙌🏽
I floated in here. Proper.
Don’t let the work hours fool you.
Twelve on, six straight,
hands tired, feet barking—
I still step out looking like a warning. Watch out!
Now let me break this masterpiece down for you one time.
The hat.
This ain’t fashion.
This is inheritance.
Heavy with history.
Wide enough to block opinions.
I wear it tilted so, the doubt of how fly I am slides off the brim.
The suit.
Listen—
Found it where patience lives.
Thrift rack, back corner, minding its business.
I rescued it.
Took it to get cleaned, pressed, reminded who it was.
Told them to make the creases so sharp
they announce me before I speak.
Pressed so hard the creases got opinions.
This fabric got structure, and so do I.
I taped what needed taping,
lifted what needed lifting,
secured the situation like the "Don" I am...recognize.
The shoes.
I've had these since the Jefferson's relocated.
Which means I didn’t need tonight
to prove anything.
They already know how I move. It's just new to you.
The jewelry?
Listen.
Let’s not ask too many questions.
Everything legal-adjacent and paid in full.
I mind my business,
and it shines accordingly.
Didn’t spend too much.
Spent intention.
Spent confidence.
Spent a lifetime learning how to look like this
without trying.
So if you mad,
be mad at your mirror.
If you uncomfortable,
that’s growth knocking.
Be glad your spirit is recognizing quality. You see me and it feels good to be seen.
Next time you want casual,
don’t call me.
Because every time I show up,
I'm gonna be a problem.
A little pressure and a lot of truth.
I'm sharp. Deal with it.
