Gibson "Vanguard" GA-77 RVT getting some much needed love. New capacitors are installed and the "no tubes" test was successful. Next step is to install the tubes and give the glass a little juice.

I've found myself becoming more of a tape archivist recently. Moreover, the blight of sticky shed syndrome in analog tape is very real. I've recently tried a few chemical treatments to old back-coated tape; I'm hoping its more successful than heat-treatment.

A friend of mine suggested using a 3D Printing Service to recreate a missing button on my Otari MX5050; the stop button, to be precise. I'm very impressed with how it turned out. Thank you, Shapeways 3D Printing.

Saved this AKAI x330 from an Estate Sale. The 10" metal reels alone were worth the price paid. After going through 30+ reels of Scotch/3M recording tape I can confirm that the old 3M formulation suffers from sticky oxide shed. Analog audio lives on!

Recent acquisition : Ashly Sc-55 Compressor. It needs to have the capacitors replaced at the very minimum, but I think there's a little room for improvement before it gets plugged into a rack. Compression obsession.
