Arts on the Lake is proud to host a new production bringing Detra Denise to the Center.

Ms. Denise is a New York-based performer and storyteller with over 20 acclaimed shows in New York City. She’s best known for her deeply personal work, rooted in her “Humans of New York” journey, where she bravely shared her life’s trials and triumphs.

With this performance, Denise debuts her newest one-woman play, A Time to Dance, a lyrical exploration of resilience, transformation, and the power of stepping into one’s own rhythm. With each performance, Detra invites audiences to see life anew—daring them to dance through their own challenges.

Join us for our first Winter Wonderland Event, a family night for children, young and old. There will be winter themed games and activities, music, and crafting and coloring activities for all ages.


The fun begins at 7 PM and will include Pin the Nose on the Snowman, Snowball Shovel, Mittened Grab Game, a puppet show and photo ops.

A Special part of the evening will be the opening of the annual Holiday Train Show, with a special nighttime opening. Come see the village and trains light up for this special nighttime viewing.

Hot cocoa, cider and treats will be available for purchase as well.

Special event, be the first to visit our Winter Wonderland Train Show at night led by a special guest dressed in red!

Train show preview begins at 8pm

Costs are minimal and all proceeds go towards the keeping the Holiday Train Show running! Reserve now at artsonthelake.org before the train leaves the station!!

Ticket price: $5.00 person. Children age 3 and under are free.

A Repair Café is an event where residents can bring various household goods that need repair. They are organized and staffed with Sustainable Putnam volunteers who enjoy fixing things and helping others. Repairs are performed for free. If necessary parts are available, they are sold at cost.

Folks have had lights, sewing machines, small electronics, clothes, and much more repaired!

How does it work?

You’ll be checked in at the reception table as you enter and directed to the appropriate Repair Coach. Repair guests assist the “Repair Coach”, learning about maintenance and repairs as the work is completed. Free beverages, and learn about repairs with the help of an expert Repair Coach.

You may simply “walk in” and bring in your item, or pre-register using the link below.
