Introducing Angela Clemmons!🎶

Angela Clemmons was raised in the church, singing in the choir from toddlerhood, as the daughter of a Pentecostal pastor and choir director. Her professional career began at age twelve in To***co Road at Westport Country Playhouse, which opened the door to her 40+ year recording career and performances with renowned artists. In 2001, Angela founded Shoreline Soul, a community gospel choir in Madison, CT, bringing the power of gospel music to a region where the genre is not widely represented. Following its success, Angela launched Valley Soul, a gospel choir sponsored by Griffin Hospital.

We cannot wait to welcome Angela at Music in the Nave’s An Afternoon of Gospel at St. Andrew’s Parish. Get your tickets for Saturday at https://bit.Ly/WandaHouston

Meet mezzo-soprano soloist, Rebecca de Almeida!

A couple years before the pandemic Rebecca de Almeida switched her career as an awarded pianist to become a classical singer, and she is quickly establishing herself as one of the leading mezzo sopranos in Connecticut. She has performed a variety of operatic roles throughout the US, Latin America and Europe. In the 22-23 Season, the Brazilian mezzo made her debut at Carnegie Hall (in concert), in Italy as Giulio Cesare in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto, and in Mexico as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. The New Haven Register Shore Life wrote: “Rebecca de Almeida gave a staggeringly commanding performance as Carmen. I will be following her meteoric rise” about her debut as the title role of Bizet’s Carmen with OTC. Rebecca is honored to be a recurrent soloist with the New Haven Chorale, the CT Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.
