Art by Lady Z

Art by Lady Z Susan Bagrationoff is a professional surrealist whose body of work focuses on mythology and mysterious creatures. Susan M. Susan is a native Floridian.

Faeries and folklore are the subjects of her creations using the beauty of nature within the Pacific Northwest for realistic reference. Bagrationoff (Lady Z) is an ethereal artist living in Fort Myers, Florida. Her subject matter of choice for her paintings are ethereal creatures such as angels and other ghost-like figures. Much of Susan's recent works have incorporated the concepts of the energy

of the soul within plants, animals and human beings. Her latest bodies of work include The Runes Stones (her latest), Tarot Cards, and the Chakras . Born and raised in Miami, she is still one of the palest people in town! Susan's favorite music type is gothic/industrial and she often attends clubs that spin such music on Wednesday nights. This type of music inspires her since the themes of many of the songs relate to mysterious and often magickal subjects. Susan also adore New Age music for the same reason.

VIDEO PROGRESS POST : Here's a short video highlighting the progress of this jovial dryad currently being conjured onto my canvas! I have to say that I am having too much fun creating the various textures in this rhododendron-inspired piece. I have been playing with unique brush strokes, palette knife techniques and even some finger painting so far.

I hope you enjoy this short video progress post! 💜

PROGRESS POST : That bark-like texture of the background is LUSCIOUS! I am totally in love with how the impressionistic technique conjured the desired effect in the background of this jovial dryad. Her long, leafy wings are beginning to grow their color with the use of a palette knife. Stay tuned as there will be another progress post rather soonish!

Thank you for taking the time to check out this progress post. 💜

USPS LOST MY ARTWORK! Remember last week when I posted how thrilled I was that I had artwork heading to Chicago?! Well....they never made it. In fact, I am not really sure where they went. USPS doesn't have a clue.

To my artist friends curious about shipping artwork: this is the first time my package was actually 'lost'. I do not ever ship with this carrier (USPS)....and *THIS* is why. Don't be afraid to ship artwork, just be aware of the reliability of the carrier in that area.

Good luck and may the odds forever be in your favor!

NEW UPON THE EASEL: I love watching the blooming of the rhododendron in the Spring! They seem magickal to me in how they grow and eventually bloom in a variety of hues. This new piece has been inspired by that experience with these unique flowers.

A blissful dryad will soon be blossoming onto this canvas! The initial sketch and outlining has been completed, now it's time for some wickedly fun modeling paste build out. Stay tuned for a progress post on this beauty soonish.

* I have added a photo of my inspiration in this post. *

Thank you for taking the time to check out this post. 💜

JUST COMPLETED: "Submerged" 2026. This 10" x 10" original acrylic mixed media painting reveals the gaze of water nymphs hidden within the tangled seaweed. As lily leaves unfurl and reach towards the water's surface, the nymphs' secluded abode is exposed.

This piece was conjured with copious amounts of modeling paste to extend the edges of the lily leaves off the canvas by nearly to three inches. Palette knife techniques and impressionistic brush strokes create the textures, bringing life to the piece. Metallic medium was utilized to add a sense of magic to one of the 'eyes' of the nymph.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my most recent completed piece!
