🏆 Athlete of the Week – Week 7: Madison “Madi” Meier 🏆
Congratulations to Madi Meier, our Southridge Athlete of the Week!
In just her first year of competitive diving, Madi has made an incredible splash — dominating dual meets across the MCC and emerging as one of the top divers in the state. 💪💦
She’s taken first place in diving at:
Hanford • Kennewick • Walla Walla • Sageview • Pasco • Chiawana • Hermiston
She also won the 3A division at both the 11-Dive Meet in Richland (9/19) and the MCC Championships, and is currently ranked 10th in Washington 3A with a score of 264.70!
Even beyond the board, Madi’s commitment shines — she’s stepping up to swim the 100 Fly at Districts to help her team, and maintains a 3.87 GPA in the classroom. 📚☀️
Her positivity, drive, and leadership make her a true Sun through and through.
Way to go, Madi! We’re so proud of you — and can’t wait to see you at Districts and hopefully State next month! 🌞💛💙

Congrats to our chamber choir for their moving performance on Friday at Jazz Unlimited. They were chosen to sing in the Honors Showcase for their passion, effective, committed and emotive solos. This is the first time we’ve sung at the Honors Showcase. Mrs. Evans is super proud of you all!

Kamiakin Choir and Symphony Orchestra Earn Prestigious Carnegie Hall Invitation

Kamiakin High School’s Choir and Symphony Orchestra are heading to Carnegie Hall! Our talented students have been invited to perform at the Harmonic Convergence Concert on April 4, 2025, marking a historic moment for the school's music program.

Under the direction of Jeremy Bennett and Scott Wagnon, the symphony Orchestra will be the only instrumental ensemble featured, and the choir will take the stage as part of the 2025 Choirs of America Nationals, performing a world-premiere piece by Dr. Brandon Boyd!

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity showcases the dedication, passion and excellence of our musicians on one of the world’s most iconic stages!

Concert Date: April 8, 2025
Location: Carnegie Hall, NYC

Yes! So many skills are learned by joining a choir.

Joining a school choir or chorus can be a great way for students to not only build their musical talents, but other important skills like teamwork, self-discipline, and goal setting. Thanks to all the music educators helping our students lift their voices in song!

Congratulations to our talented high school students who have been selected to perform in the prestigious WMEA All-State and NAfME All-Northwest Ensembles!

This incredible honor recognizes their hard work, talent, and dedication to music. They will join over 1,500 outstanding musicians from across the region in Spokane this February for an unforgettable performance. Join us in congratulating these amazing students and their dedicated teachers!
