Storytime Bookshop is one of the neighbors greatly impacted by the early morning fire, Tuesday March 17th, at El Tequila's restaurant in Downtown Kennewick. (Sadly, the restaurant is a complete loss.)
Storytime suffered so much smoke, soot, and water damage they have had to discard their entire book inventory, shelving cases, and furniture, and close the store. Everything has been deemed unsafe and carcinogenic.
Owner, Lorelei, say's "We are going to make the sweetest lemonade out of this". 🍋
One of the most beautiful things about the Downtown Kennewick Community and the SOCO Creative District is that they show up for each other in innovative ways.
Ginny, Owner of Discount Vac and Sew, 22 W. Kennewick Ave, has offered Lorelie, Jason, and the Puppets a space in the classroom corner to continue business as a Temporary Pop-Up location as they get back on their feet, and seek a new Storefront for Storytime Bookshop. Yes, they will be looking to continue in Downtown Kennewick and the SOCO Creative District!
Look for the Storytime Bookshop Pop-Up Location to make its debut around April 25th 🤞for Independent Bookstore Day!
