And so many more fun people! Amazing to think that we were all together in person for the first time, as tho we had really known each other for years! Who knew that some yarn could be bought at the after having drinks on the Brygge in Bergen the night before while the sun kept us company WELL into the night! A ride up the Floiban with gorgeous Bergen below! And then, after visiting an 1100s Stave Church, a cobalt mine, Hemsedal region in the mountains, Oslo, Trondheim…and a couple weeks after returning, to be visited by a now great buddy, to find that I not only had the right color yarns necessary for a project, BUT also to find I had the right dye lot!! Such fun having Laurie, her Mom and sister-in-law visit in Orford, NH! Such a fun time today recounting fun stories, and making new memories! Looking for some Norwegian wool for your next project? So…. THIS is what brought me back to Norway, and I couldn’t be happier! Such a wonderful group of knitters…. All friends!
Sharing knitting time together, but ALSO learning so much about the history and culture of Norway!

Another visit to wonderful Oslo!, and a repeat picture with Anne, a peek of a pattern to come from Anne’s Norwegian Knitting, off to the ski-jump ( wish there had been time for the zip-line!), back into town and a trip to HUSFLIDEN for buttons and yarn for all, and a stop at Freía Chocolate Shop, a post-dinner stroll through the Queen’s Garden, followed by a laughter-filled 7hr train ride to Trondheim! Another day, another Yarn shop! How wonderful to see Marte at Selbu spinneri again, and how fun to see the 18 of us enjoying hearing about the very small but mighty process of Sheep-to -yarn, supporting all of the smaller Norwegian wool producers! A trip down the road to the 5-day long Viking Market, with a fantastic talk about archeology digs, new discoveries and new focus on Viking textiles! Our own Steph talked about the Viking graves she has been lucky enough to be involved with, replicating traditional items as they would have been created in the 800s!
Back to town for yet more tasty Fish soup…. And a much needed walk!
Wish the sun would go down! Sun still up at 11:15…pm!
