MPCS Arts The Arts at Mount Paran Christian School support curricular and co-curricular programming in preschool through high school.

MPCS arts operates within the state-of-the-art Murray Arts Center for fine and performing arts instruction and production. Friday's special performance of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe brought our community together as we welcomed more than 300 guests to the Kristi Lynn Theatre for an ASL-interpreted production. Interpreters Anne Zimmerman and Laura Kehoe helped bring the magic of Narnia to life for our deaf and hard-of-hearing guests.

We were excited to welcome members of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, along with students from schools serving this community and schools incorporating ASL into their curriculum.

Our MPCS ASL students put their classroom learning into practice by communicating with guests before the show and assisting with interpretation during a special cast meet-and-greet afterward! This is a meaningful collaboration between arts and academics, celebrating connection, inclusion, and the power of storytelling!

This Artist Spotlight features G. Broggi and a piece that has made its way from the canvas into our MPCS community!

Her colorful lion artwork has become part of the visual identity for our production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Her design is featured on our official show shirt and is also available as a T-shirt in the school store!

• October 13 | “Autumn Voices” chorus concert at 5:00 p.m.
• October 13 | “Autumn Overture” band and orchestra concert at 7:00 p.m.

Mark your calendars for two different opportunities to enjoy the wonderful sounds produced by our MPCS musicians!

On Tuesday, October 13, come watch the Fall Chorus Concert at 5:00 p.m. featuring the middle school and high school chorus. That same day, at 7:00 p.m., come and see our Fall Band and Orchestra Concert featuring the high school and middle school band and orchestra students. All concerts are free and open to MPCS friends and family.

Our Lower School halls have some new residents! 🦌🦉🎨
Lower school artists collaborated to create “Woodland Creatures of the Edwardian Era,” a collection of imaginative animal portraits inspired by the art, fashion, and details of the Edwardian period.
Using Sharpies, colored pencils, crayons, and watercolors, students gave each woodland creature its own personality—from dapper deer and scholarly owls to some very fashionable forest friends!
Be sure to stop by the lower school art display in the Mulkey hallway to take a closer look at the creativity, craftsmanship, and imagination behind each portrait. ✨

As our students prepare to bring The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to the stage, Dr. Kerlin joined rehearsal to explore the deeper meaning behind C.S. Lewis’ beloved story and the Christian truths woven throughout the world of Narnia.

Did You Know?
Some of the most important work in a production happens before the curtain ever opens!

Behind every set, costume, prop, and scene change is a team of students and helping hands bringing the world of the show to life. From painting and building scenery to costumes and finishing touches, our tech crew plays a huge role in making everything you see on stage possible.

And you don’t have to be on stage to be part of the production! Students can get involved behind the scenes, learn hands-on technical theatre skills, and earn volunteer hours while helping bring our shows to life.

It truly takes a team to set the stage!

We’ve already made so many memories in the arts this school year and we’re just getting started! We can’t wait for all that’s ahead when we return.
