Memorial Day - A day of Remembrance.

This day started as a "decoration day" - a day in the spring in which soldiers' graves were decorated with floral arrangements. General Orders No. 11 issued by John A. Logan designated May 30th as a day to decorate the graves of those who passed in defense of their country.

Wherever you are today - be sure to take a few moments of silence for those who have lost their lives for our country today.

General Wheeler by Dent Myers.

Dent originally presented it to Wheeler High School May 16, 1968. This painting hung in the library at Wheeler high school for quite a few years. This painting managed to find its way back to the artist in March of 2014.
