Hiya, gamers!

Another Sunday, another game to be shown off and discounted later in the week for our Feature Fridays promotion!

This week's game is a modern arcade classic. And although it did get a console release on the Wii U, it showed that there's nothing quite like the arcade original! This week, we're looking at Tank! Tank! Tank!!

Tank! Tank! Tank! is a third-person shooter developed and published by Namco Bandai in 2009. It was designed by producer Makoto Ishii as a spiritual successor to Tokyo Wars, an incredibly popular tank-based arcade game that came out in 1996.

The game has both cooperative and competitive game modes, as well as being able to play solo. In any of the aforementioned modes, players will hop into and pilot their tanks in order to mount an assault on monsters, giant kaiju-like creatures, or rival teams.

Co-op allows all players to work as one team against the current mission monster(s), while competitive modes let players divide themselves into two rival teams to take each other on in tank combat, or go it alone in a massive four-person free-for-all, Twisted Metal-style!

Tank! Tank! Tank! features multiple stages with highly destructible environments, and collateral damage is not only allowed, it's encouraged in order to complete the given mission. The variety of weaponry players can obtain helps facilitate this destruction immensely.

One thing that the game does to separate itself from other, similarly-styled games is utilize a portrait orientation of the monitors, rather than the traditional landscape orientation of most other games, giving it a unique visual field that really gives players the focus on blowing up whatever it is in front of them.

One of the game's selling points is its fast-paced, chaotic action, along with its use of B-movie tropes and parody, along with giving the feel of the cult classic Earth Defense Force, creating a game that you can enjoy by yourself or with friends for hours on end.

So come on in this Friday, 6/5, and come experience the chaos, mayhem, and destruction for yourself for half off the normal credit cost!

Hello gamers!

Another Sunday, another look at a game on the arcade floor to show off and discount on Friday for our Feature Fridays promotion!

MomoCon is winding down now, and we'll bet that you're already missing the arcade experience, particularly the rhythm games. Fortunately, we have you covered! This week's game is a local favorite in the rhythm game communities! That's right! Our featured game this time is none other than the popular Jubeat!

Jubeat (Pronounced "Yoo-Beet", and stylized as jubeat) is a series of rhythm games developed by Konami, and is part of their Bemani line, along with other favorites such as Beatmania, Dance Dance Revolution, Sound Voltex, and Pop'n Music.

While the game went on several test markets starting in December of 2007, the game was officially released in July of 2008. Since then, the game has received several different variations, updates, and upgrades, with the latest official release being jubeat beyond the Ave. in September of 2023.

The unique style of gameplay has the playfield divided into 16 squares of touch panels with a miniature screen underneath used to navigate menus and play the game itself.

The game is played by touching the panels in tune with the music being played. While it is a rough equivalent, it can best be compared to the style of games like Ouendan or Elite Beat Agents. As with most other rhythm games, players are scored on how well they tap the panels in tune to the beat.

With simple, but addictive mechanics, combined with a seemingly infinite track list, it's little wonder why people enjoy this game so much.

So come on in this Friday, 5/29, and see for yourself why this game has been so beloved for so long, and for half off the normal credit cost!

Howdy gamers!

It's time to pull back the lid on yet another game on the arcade floor for a little backstory, along with a juicy half-off discount for our Feature Fridays promotion!

This week's game is one of our newer offerings, straight from Japan! Replacing Let's Go Jungle for the time being, while still keeping the enclosed rail-shooter gameplay, we have Sailor Zombie: AKB48 Arcade Edition!

Broadly speaking, Sailor Zombie is a mixed-media project created by the Japanese Idol group AKB48, featuring a television live-action drama series, a manga adaptation, and most recently, an anime adaptation as well. The game was released by Bandai Namco in April of 2014.

The story of the game, generally speaking, revolves around members of the Idol group as they struggle to survive in a zombie apocalypse.

The arcade game, named for the series, plays through a side story where you choose an uninfected member of the group, and fight your way through waves of zombies in order to rescue and cure their bandmates.

During shooting segments, your weapon of choice is a... "love vaccine" gun...? That's right, the cure for this particular strain of zombification is THE POWER OF LOVE!!!

But what sets this game apart from other on-rails shooters is that during breaks in the shooting, the game turns into a rhythm-shooting game where you fire in time to the beat of the music in order to help the zombies(?) perform their routines.

It's definitely a unique and quirky take on the on-rails shooter genre, from the same people that brought you Dark Escape 4D and Deadstorm Pirates. So if you're looking for something different in a shooter, look no further than this title right here!

Some come on in this Friday, 5/22 and come try it out for yourself for half-off!

Hello Gamers!

It's time once again for another game at the arcade to be shown off and discounted for our Feature Fridays promotion!

This week's game is one that you aren't likely to find anywhere else, because as far as we know, (but feel free to correct us on this if necessary) this is the only one left in operation in the entire world! This week's feature is on Namco's Pinpoint Shot!

Pinpoint Shot is a game that released in 1998. They were quite popular on beach boardwalk arcades due to their unique gameplay.

Unlike regular shooting games where players would shoot at targets on a screen, you instead climb up on a platform, and shoot at targets that were a distance away from the platform, with a range of up to 65 feet, depending on the location. Targets were generally either mounted directly on an opposing wall, or suspended from the ceiling, depending on available space.

There are two game modes. Solo and Competitive, which work exactly as they sound like. Solo mode has players shooting as many targets as they can within the time limit as they light up, trying to reach a high score. But be warned: If your skills fall short, the game will absolutely cajole you and urge you to keep trying.

Competitive mode has two players shooting simultaneously, trying to hit targets as they light up. The first player to hit the target gets a point, and the first player to 10 points wins the game. If one player gets too far ahead in score than the other, the game will pause the action, just to make fun of the player who is behind, before telling them they need to step their game up.

Come on in to the arcade this Friday, 5/15, and try out this rare piece of gaming history for yourself for half off!

Hiya, gamers!

I know it's been a couple weeks since we did this, but we've been super busy! The time for Satellite's opening is fast approaching, but we managed to find some time to bring you another look into a game on the floor to be discounted for this week's Feature Fridays promotion!

Looks like fate has brought us back to rhythm games once again, as this week's game is another popular Japanese rhythm game from the same team that brought us maimai and Chunithm! This week, we have O.N.G.E.K.I.!

O.N.G.E.K.I. Is one of SEGA's "Gekichumai" series of rhythm games, and similarly to maimai's washing machine and Chunithm's ATM design, O.N.G.E.K.I. is modeled after a stapler, of all things.

The game, unlike its brethren, is far more story and character-driven than the other two, featuring many original songs sung by the characters, so you'll find a lot more narrative than you would in most other games.

The game itself has both rhythm and bullet-hell elements, having players push buttons in time to the music, while simultaneously utilizing the lever controller in order to dodge obstacles and bullets launched by the enemy character. It can be incredibly chaotic, especially on higher difficulties, but as long as you keep your cool and your rhythm to stay on beat, you can make it through just fine.

As with any rhythm game, the bread and butter is ultimately the music selection. O.N.G.E.K.I. has a wide variety of music, aside from the aforementioned original tracks sung by the in-game characters. It also features music by niconico, Vocaloid, and Touhou, as well as tracks from the other games in the family, Chunithm and maimai.

Unique to this game is a trading card function, a first for any rhythm game. Cards can be purchased or printed from a Card Maker machine, featuring characters in the game. Cards of characters that are not normally obtainable in the game can be purchased randomly via a "gacha" system from the machine itself, helping players improve their characters and their scores.

So come on in this Friday, 5/1, and see why O.N.G.E.K.I. is such a popular and beloved addition to our rhythm game lineup!
