Worth the Wait

By:Burgandy Anne Bullock Godwin

Many times in life
We lift our needs on high
Yet many of us struggle
With the time that passes by

We lean into our own understanding
We often don't want to wait
Too many times we forget
The path isn't always straight

When we bow our heads
We want our answer today
But sometimes the pause is necessary
For God to show us the way

There is a greater plan
It's easy for us to forget
When the answer we desperately wanted
Is not the answer we get

Our prayers do get answered
It's not always right away
Some are years in the making
Some take only a day

Some answers are hard to accept
It's not what we wanted to hear
But there is a reason for all He does
Though it's not always clear

We must be patient
And know that he makes a way
Know it's His Will and not ours
Everytime we pray

Some days are hard
And the path is not always straight
But we will get the answers we seek
And they are worth the wait.

You ever pray for something so hard and for so long it feels like you will never be answered? Ever been impatient because you are human and want something "now"...I have. Ever gotten a prayer answered and at the time you didn't think it was answered. Yeap me too. Years ago I was in a situation where I literally prayed for God to fix it so I could stay in it...instead he removed me completely! Which may have very well saved my life. I am so grateful to this day that I now have a loving husband and family. I prayed for this family over 10years ago and finally got it 4years ago...some prayers take years of planning. Be patient, it's hard, but worth the wait. Trust me! ❤️
Thank you for reading!

God’s Blessings
By: Burgandy Anne Bullock Godwin

The Lord sends many blessings
There are many forms of light
If you look around they’re always there
Always shinning so bright
There is one I hold most dear
And in my heart forever stays
The blessing of a person
That speaks to you everyday
They offer many kind words
And comfort you in the storm
When you feel like you can’t fight anymore
When you feel so tired and worn
These blessings bring in the light
They help pull you through
They go to God on your behalf
They bow their head and pray for you
So if you are reading this
Understand what a blessing you are
The smallest gestures can make a way
When hope seems so far
Love one another
And practice this everyday
Be a reminder to those in the dark
That God will always make a way
Be there for one another
And pray to the Lord above
And know there is no better gift
Than the gift of Christian love

Sometimes all it takes is a few kind words to someone to turn their whole day around. Think about some of your bad days, did someone offer words of encouragement? Maybe they did, and maybe it helped, or maybe no one did and you wish they had. Keep that in mind the next time you see someone having a bad day. You could be a blessing to someone and not even know it. ❤️ Thank you for reading!

This is one of my favorites. A few of my readers have already seen this poem. I wrote reflecting on not having some of my loved ones for the holidays...(yes I realize it's June) however there are many times of year that may be special to us, that we may take notice to the empty chairs in the room. This is something we can all relate to.
I hope this helps bring peace to others as much as it did me.
❤️🙏 God bless.

The Empty Chair
By: Burgandy Godwin

Here we are again
That special time of year
And while it makes our hearts smile
It may also bring tears.
We love and laugh in fellowship
We cast away our worries and cares
Until we look around the room
And catch sight of the empty chairs.
You’re reminded of a place in your heart
A painful emptiness exists there
You close your eyes to seek it out
And realize it’s that same empty chair.
Mothers, Fathers, sisters, brothers,
Or maybe the one we gave our vows,
All the ones who can’t be with us today
Because they sit at a different table now.
We are selfish in the way
That we always want them near
At times praying with every breath
That the Lord will let them stay here.
But time is not ours
From the beginning it was never so
Time belongs to God
And he decides when we go.
The chair may be empty
But take heart, they are not gone
They have a chair at the Lord’s table now
In Heaven where the spirit lives on.
They have a new favorite seat now
Where they praise and rejoice.
They shout for joy and they sing
Lifting every voice.
Smile when you see the chair
Knowing they have been made new.
They just sit at a different table now
Where they are saving a seat for you.

Hero
By: Burgandy Godwin
1/31/23

It seems nothing is easy now
I feel my faith is constantly shaken
I look around this world today
It feels as though the good is taken
And just as I start to sink
As I search for the words to say
I call upon my Hero
And I fall to my knees and pray
The one I call my Hero
Strengthens me to make me brave
He will not abandon me
He will always Save
If I have lost my way in darkness
Or evil has stolen my sight
I have nothing to fear
My Hero is the Light
He will always shine for me
He will always show me a way
And as long as I walk with him
I will go home with him to stay
I will fear no evil
And I will not bend to it’s charms
As long as my hero stands with me
Nothing shall bring me harm
My hero knows how to defeat giants
He knows how to calm the seas
And even when I don’t understand
He knows what’s best for me
There is no cell that can hold me
If he wants me free
Nothing will blind my eyes
If he wills me to see
My Hero holds a promise
One I wish to make heard
He will always care for us
If we only trust his word
Nothing is ever hopeless
It’s always in his hands
Even in the darkest times
His promise still stands
The promise of the peace
That comes with fellowship in heaven above
The promise of forgiveness
And a Father’s endless love.

Welcome all. Thank you for visiting my page it truly means a lot. I created this page with the desire to share my poetry. What will be seen here will be primarily Christian based with a small amount of normal "life" things. My ultimate goal is just to reach people. I have a small group of individuals I share some of my work with, mainly Christian based, or poetry for a grieving heart. Many times I have been told a God given gift should be shared. It was given to do the Lord's work. Well here I am, with a new page on Facebook. Which may not be much, but it was a way I felt I could reach more people. I do have a desire to share, because everyone should know and love Jesus it's a love that cannot be compared to anything else. I like to help people, and writing poetry with messages may seem silly to some, but for others it can brighten their day.
So I hope you enjoy what you see here. I felt compelled to do this and it makes me feel good, I'm hoping and praying maybe I can make someone else feel good, and want to know Jesus. ❤️ God bless❤️
