Off to London/Cambridge for a month!🇬🇧 I am taking a study leave and I'm beyond grateful. Thank you to Susan B. Noyes Skatie Noyes Hutchinson and Ed Hutchinson for the generous use of your flat! Miya Higashiyama has been singing at Kenilworth Union Church since June 2019 and is currently attending the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University ('22) where she is receiving her Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Theresa Brancaccio. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Pacific Lutheran University. She has performed a wide variety of opera roles in the Pacific Northwest, at Northwestern Opera Theatre, and beyond, and has placed nationally and regionally in the National Association for Teachers of Singing Competitions several years in a row. She also sings with Grant Park Chorus as a supplemental chorus alto, and is currently singing and teaching in Evanston. Miya has also participated in masterclasses with Joyce DiDonato (streamed worldwide on Youtube and Medici.tv), Stephanie Blythe, and Gil Kalish.
