The Apple Festival committee joins the many others who are grieving the loss of Mayor Suzanne Handshoe. She was not only the Mayor of the city, but also a friend and a passionate advocate who left a profound impression on everyone who was honored to know her, both in a professional and personal context. Prayers for her family and friends!

Help needed - plans are underway for the 40th annual festival but our children's area doesn't have a pony ride vendor. We know how many kiddos enjoy the ponies and we need help finding someone to offer pony rides. If you know anyone, please send them our way. They can find contact information on the website at

Planning is in full swing for the 40th year of the festival. Exciting things are happening - some old and some new! You won't want to miss this year's festival. Returning contests include The Home Decorating Contest, Two-Man Cross Cut Saw, The Baking Contest, The Apple Seed Spitting, and Frog Flippin' (no frogs are harmed in the flip). The beard growing contest - while it was done years and years ago, it hasn't made a debut for over 20 years. And one of the many things added this year - an Apple Trail Scavenger Hunt. Details will be released in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
