🐸 Toy Story 5 lands at the Strand this Friday!

Friday is also when we announce the winner of our Little Free Library design contest. Voting closes tomorrow night and we count Friday morning. Scroll back through the designs and pick your favorite before it ends. Come Friday, see whose design gets built for the Strand lobby.

The whole gang is back on the big screen. We cannot wait to fill the room with families.

All 31 designs are up and it's your turn to pick the winner. The design with the most votes gets built by our friends at Relentless Tile & Remodeling and lives in the Strand lobby for good.

Here's how to vote. Each design has a number. Find your favorite and comment its number on this post. That's it. For example, comment VOTE #99 and you've voted for number 99.

You've got three days. Voting closes the morning of Friday, June 19, the day Toy Story 5 opens.

Top three designs each win the Strand Special, our biggest concession combo, plus two tickets to Toy Story 5 or Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

📚 LAST DAY TO ENTER 📚

Want a shot at two free tickets to Toy Story 5 next week? Today is the last day to enter our Little Free Library design competition, and if your kid likes to draw, this is the reminder to stop in. Anyone 18 and under can enter.

We open at 12:30 PM and we’re taking entries until 9:30 PM tonight. That’s it. After tonight, the community votes.

Right now we have fewer than 10 designs, so the odds are great. Be creative. It can be anything movie theater related, a film reel, a marquee, a ticket booth, a popcorn bucket, whatever feels like the Strand.

Entering could not be easier. No purchase, no sign-up, no catch. Just walk in with a drawing and hand it to us.

Top three designs each win the Strand Special, our biggest concession combo, plus two tickets to Toy Story 5 (premiering next Friday) or Spider-Man: Brand New Day (out in July). That’s a $36 prize, and entry is completely free.

Come fill our theater with designs. We can’t wait to see what you bring us.

📚 STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION 📚

We want to put a Little Free Library in the Strand lobby, and we want a kid to design it. It's a little library of books that sits out for anyone. Take one, leave one, all free.

Anyone up to 18 can enter. All you need is paper and something to draw with. A crayon works just as well as a drawing you spent all week on. We just want your idea.

It's going in a movie theater, so have fun with it. Maybe it looks like a film reel, an old marquee, a ticket booth, a popcorn bucket. Whatever feels like the Strand to you.

We'll post every design to Facebook and let the community vote. The winner gets built by our friends at Relentless Tile & Remodeling, who are donating their time to make it real. Then it stays in our lobby for good, and everyone who comes through the door will see what you made.

Bring your design to the Strand any time we're open, Thursday at 12:30 PM through Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 PM.

Voting runs June 15 through 19.

You've asked and we've answered! 🎬 Tomorrow, Saturday, June 6th, we're hosting sensory-friendly screenings for both Nate Bargatze's The Breadwinner and Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu!

The Breadwinner starts at 10:00 AM and Mandalorian & Grogu at 10:30 AM.

What does that mean? The house lights stay up so the room never goes fully dark, and we turn the sound down to a gentler level.

And there's no pressure to sit still or stay quiet. Get up, walk around, talk, come and go. Whatever your family needs to enjoy the movie is exactly what we want you to do. 💙

We built these screenings for families who need a calmer room. We hope to see you tonight and tomorrow!
