A little more work on the "out of darkness" series. Get a few more of these, and I'll give them their own portfolio. At this point I need to capture some more to take this series further. Hopefully, I can do that later this year.

For now they are featured in my aviation portfolio, https://www.rickabrownphotog.com/portfolio/G0000dTUXieT35Hc

Added a lot of bird pics to my web site today and they are ready to be sold as prints and merch, so take a look.

Wanted to talk about two of the phots here. One is a Lewis' Woodpecker, named after Merriwether Lewis. It has been heavily impacted by environmental change here in Oregon. It used to winter in the Oak Savannah here in the Willamette Valley and feed on acorns, but now that the savannah is such an endangered ecosystem, largely due to fire suppression and development. The other image I wanted to mention is the Red Crossbill a bird that we are probably watching speciate into separate species before our eyes, one of the most observable bits of evolution. They are diverging into different forms more specialized for getting the seeds out of different evergreen seeds. Unfortunately, the differences that are evolving thus far are fairly difficult for laypeople to see, subtly different beak shapes.

Well check out the pics and see if there is any merchandise you want to buy. https://www.rickabrownphotog.com/gallery-collection/Birds/C0000pG8meeO7I9M

I feel uncomfortable making this much of a hard-sell, but I am hoping to do something pretty important with some $ soon.

Been adding some more old pics to my website, primarily in the nature archive. I have also been setting up sales for more merchandise, since changes through Photoshelter eliminated some of what I had setup due to changes in vendors.

Most of my images that don't have right of privacy/publicity issues, are available as wall art and merch. Check it out and maybe get yourself something cool. Pictured is my Dad's Tawny coffee mug.

Always my favorite wildlife pic for messing around with more dramatic processing looks. Wilson's Snipe.

Doing some portfolio changes today. Essentially, since I have some time on my hands finding some images that are good enough to be in there that I overlooked before. So re-editing the way I would do it now (not much different, but with time on my hand it's kinda fun) and plugging them in. So far these four today. Had plugged in a couple of others over past few weeks. Let me know what you think.

A couple more re-edits where I took the same approach to the edit. Compositions don't quite lend themselves as much to the "stylistic" image approach.

Or how about this one?
