17ROX is so excited will be joining us for the Spring Invitational exhibition on May 8th!
Through the use of common New England colors and patterns, Molly Fletcher gives a tongue-in-cheek view of the authentic, rather than a veneer of the picturesque. Like the subjects of her paintings, she sees the humor in living in this bizarre, historic corner of the US and that humor has driven her passion for narrative painting and her search for the real New England.
Molly has spent the past 15 years inspiring creativity as a Visual Arts educator in Keene. After earning her MFA in Painting from the University of Delaware in 2010, she returned to her alma mater, Keene State College, where she has since taught courses in drawing, painting, and design. She now teaches at Granite Valley Preparatory Charter School. In the classroom, she champions the idea that art is not an inborn gift, but a skill honed through dedication, time, and effort. With a healthy dose of humor and high expectations, she encourages her students to claim their artistic practice as their own. Also! Molly is the director of Keene Art Walk, and we commend her for the hard work she puts in every year to bring such a wonderful gift to our community.
17ROX is grateful to see her work on display at the gallery for a few months!
Join us for the opening Friday May 8th 5-8PM
