Perang di Papua Barat harus dimediasi oleh jurnalis asing sebab, media lokal dan nasional yang berbasis di Papua dan Indonesia telah berbeda pandangan akibat konflik bersenjata yang telah mengakibatkan korban jiwa bagi pihak sipil.
Ribuan orang telah menggungsi, anak bayi tewas, dewasa dan lanjut usia pun turut menjadi korban akibat militer indonesia dan pejuang kemerdekaan melancarkan serangan tiba-tiba yang mengejutkan warga sipil diatas tanah adatnya. Dari pihak pejuang kemerdekaan dan pihak pemerintah indonesia pun selalu melakukan perang proxy atas konflik bersenjata yang secara nyata terjadi di Papua Barat maka dengan tegas lagi diminta untuk jurnalis asing dan independent untuk memasuki wilayah konflik bersenjata di Papua Barat.
