Our name might be
long, but our mission is simple. Our Mission Statement:
“Seek out and assist other organizations and programs in providing early
education for children and life coaching for adolescents and teens”. We feel that early childhood education is critical in creating a desire to learn
among young children and can set the pace for future academic accomplishments. We also feel that b
eing an adolescent or teen in these days is more difficult than
it has ever been. The need for life coaching, teaching young people how to
evaluate life situations and to make good decisions, has never been greater. What We Do:
KKES is a community station designed to service Excelsior
Springs and other Northeast Clay county communities. As a community
radio station, we are eager to participate in and promote activities and events of
all types within our communities. KKES is also a strong advocate of local programming, meaning, we seek out and
encourage local residents to participate in our programming in a variety of ways,
from simply offering suggestions to hosting a radio show. What We Are:
KKES is working to bring community radio to NE Clay County. For
the first time in over a decade, the FCC recently announced a small window of
opportunity to license new Low Power FM (LPFM) radio stations to provide a local
voice for communities. KKES is preparing for this upcoming licensing window to
provide a radio broadcast voice for the communities of Excelsior Springs, Kearney
and Lawson. We expect the radio broadcast to begin Winter 2013/14. Prior to that, on July 15th, the internet portion of the KKES broadcast will begin. Listeners can "tune in" by going to kkesfm.com. Apps are also available for
i-Phone and Android to allow listeners to tune in on their smart phone and take
KKES everywhere they go. How we are funded:
Although donations are always gladly accepted, this endeavor is funded primarily
through underwriters and supporters of programming of KKES. After operational
expenses are covered, half of all funding received by KKES through underwriting,
donations and other monetary support is distributed to a variety of local programs
and organizations that address our goals of supporting early childhood education
and teen life coaching. In short, KKES is a voice for the community, an advocate
for our youth and funded by people like you. Thank You for Your Support
