Figure Drawing: Clothed Studies
July 14, 2026 | 6:30pm - 8:30 pm

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at figure drawing? Want a little artistic refresher? Our live figure drawing event is designed to meet every artist where they are. Participants will draw a live, clothed model in an open studio format. The session begins with quick gesture sketches, moves into longer studies, and ends with a final pose for a completed drawing. This event is open to all skill levels, but the focus of this workshop is to practice proportion, gesture, movement, and perspective. Come join us for an opportunity to grow your artistic skills!

- No instruction
- Open to individuals age 15 and up
- Easels, benches, boards, and tables are provided. Please bring drawing paper/sketchbooks and drawing materials of your choice.
- Cost: $15 members / $20 non-members

Artist Talk: John Raimondi

Join us at the Museum of Nebraska Art on July 1 at 12 p.m. for a conversation with sculptor John Raimondi, the artist behind Athleta, one of Kearney’s most recognizable public sculptures located on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus.

As part of the 50th anniversary of the 500 Mile Sculpture Garden, Raimondi will share stories about creating Athleta, his experiences working on the I-80 Sculpture Project, and the importance of public art throughout his career.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear firsthand from the artist and gain a deeper appreciation for one of Kearney’s most recognizable sculptures.

This program is part of America 250 Nebraska and is presented with support from the Nebraska Arts Council. We thank the Nebraska Arts Council for helping make this event possible.
