In case you needed a reference for how loud 80 tubas and euphoniums are, here is what the hallway outside sounds like. That’s through a brick wall and two sets of doors!

Also, we have Tuba Christmas merch! All the profits go towards our studio to fund projects like this, and to help the students go to Spain this summer for the ITEA Conference. (There also might be some t-shirts, stickers, and koozies left over from our tuba conference we hosted in the summer 😉)

If you would like to see this quilt and/or buy raffle tickets, then join us at Thread Across Nebraska in the Buffalo County Fair Grounds Expo Building on October 5th!

On Friday evening, Rowe Sanctuary staff attended the Great Plains Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference to support a lovely concerto by Dr. Ian Lester that was inspired by the Sandhill Cranes Migration at the University of Nebraska- Kearney. The Migration Concerto was performed by the UNK Winds Ensemble with an euphonium solo by Dr. Robert Benton.

The UNK Loper Low Brass group are also raffling off a beautiful quilt (inspired by cranes and Rowe Sanctuary) made by Evelyn Acton to support their program (pictured). To purchase raffle tickets to win the quilt, contact Dr. Benton at [email protected].

Looks like someone else left their phone unattended! Make sure you have your phone, or else they might take photos!

Edit: sounds like there were seven phones in total that have pictures of these wonderful people! Intermission was apparently the time to leave phones behind 😅

Conference manager and Betrunken Messing member Jared Sherman serenaded us with a lovely solo! Go ahead and guess the song. We bet you can’t 😉

After hour hang has began! Enjoy our host Dr. Robert Benton playing the “drums” with the Betrunken Messing!
