This is the view from my room at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa. Busch Gardens is to the left of the photo and the downtown Tampa skyline is to the right. More testing today, Doppler on my legs to determine where they will strip the vessels they will use for the bypass. I am waiting to go to the dental lab for a check on my teeth to make sure there are no issues with them. Dental infection go directly to the heart. Didn’t know that either. Lots of new meds, stopping old meds and changing of doses. Hospital food, noisy hallways and being awakened during the night for vitals. I’ve been here a week already. Cardiac teams have been in and out, with lots of questions and information. There are a number of moving parts and options on the table, none of which are avoiding the surgery however. I will let you all know dates times and places as I am informed. Thanks a million to all my friends who have visited, called, texted and just sent wishes and prayers. I am truly blessed by family and friends, and to be in this great country where the best of medical care and bunker buster bombs are readily available. Love you all and I’ll keep you posted.

Got to spend some rare time with my oldest daughter and her husband. We had a great cruise and are looking forward to the next one. Thanks kids for everything.

I was asked to assist with planning and logistics regarding a surprise party for my "Rock-n-Roll" legend buddy Les Dudek. Between airport trips, ruse outings and telephone calls...it came off quite smoothly. Thanks to everyone who assisted. The guests, the food, the jam session and the tributes we're unbelievable. And, he needed a "Roadie" to carry out the gifts. Happy 70th to my favorite "Ramblin' Man"!

First of all "THANK YOU" to VetTix for providing tickets to the best concert I've been to in years. Brian Wilson, though a little slow, and Al Jardine, an original Beach Boy, performed some of their biggest hits. Most people don't remember it, but Chicago and the Beach Boys toured together in the 70's, trading top billing. Then, Chicago came on. They were as good, if not better than they were the last time I saw them in concert in October of 1974. What a fabulous concert...a good time was had by all.

It was a great night last night at the Derry Down in Winter Haven. Les Dudek was great as usual and of course Dan Walters on keyboards is always worth the price of admission. But then...Les brought on Winter Haven's own, Jim Stafford. They teamed up for a rendition of "Big Boss Man", which Jim insisted was actually, Big "Balls" Man. Then Mr. Stafford sang one of his many chart busting hits, "Spiders and Snakes". Dr. J and I hung out after the show and enjoyed some cold barley soup. Thanks Les...that was fun.

I will be performing at a private 60th Birthday party in the town of Perrysville, Indiana in July, thanks to my daughter Laurie and her next door neighbor, Butch. So now, I’m busy putting together what limited gear I can take in my luggage on Southwest Airlines. This will be an acoustic/electric guitar event, so have to pick out a guitar, restring and pull a TSA approved case from the garage. Then there’s a “Set” list to compile based on what I think the audience will be, and between now and July 23, I will be rehearsing between hanging out by the pool, going to hockey games and all the other things retired people do…like going to doctor appointments…LOL. Photos will be forthcoming. Thanks for following my page.
