I am already in the planning stages for my 4th Annual Concert Under The Stars Fundraiser 2018. Just as years past, there will be loads of laughter, great raffles, apparel/crafts/arts vendors, 'ono food and great entertainment. It's an all age event. So come down and relax w/the entire 'ohana. Join us in celebrating the grand opening of Dezigns by Kamohoalii!

Native Hawaiian fashion designer Kumu Micah Kamohoali‘i will celebrate the grand opening of his Pearlridge Center store on Saturday, Sept. 3. The event highlights the opening of the designer’s second store on Oahu before making history as the first Hawaiian designer to present at three European Fashion Weeks in September – including London, Milan, and Paris fashion shows.

The public is invited to attend the store blessing ceremony with Kumu Micah Kamohoali’i starting at 12 p.m. and enjoy live music performed by a line-up of local musicians from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pictured is my Tūtū, the late Joanne Antonio (Wāhilani-Keamoʻai-Codea). This past June 1, 2020 marked the 12th anniversary of her passing. A day I’ll never forget and never want to relive. She taught me to stand up for what I believe and never let anyone tell me otherwise. Though her physical presence is absent, I know she’s here each step of the way. I miss her laugh, her smile, her wise remarks and her hugs. Cherish the ones you love for tomorrow is not promised.
She is one of the reasons why the annual college scholarship fundraiser is held. A scholarship in her name is awarded to one graduating senior at Nānākuli High & Intermediate School.

In celebration of Mele Manakā (Merrie Monarch) week or should I say what would’ve been my gang and I would like to share our annual daily group photos with you all through the week. If you follow us, you would know everyday is a different color scheme. And let me tell you, people watch for us to see if their guess of the evening colors are correct. It’s quite entertaining, just like us.
We have been making the trek together for 7 years now. Like many hālau we start our planning process the year prior. We collectively choose our daily activities to include craft fairs, eateries, places of interest and scenic views. On the first travel day (Wednesday) we’d wear the annual MM t-shirt of that year. In doing so we’re often asked to which hālau we belong. We’ve joked with various names which I will not mention (funny ones). But in retrospect we are just that, a hui. We gather, we learn, we grow, we mālama. There have been many whom have joined in on this journey, some remain and some astray. But with or without the show must go on. Stay tuned for the next few days photos and stories on this huakaʻi we call

Here’s the 1st fundraiser of the year.

A Zumba event... you’ve all made the lose weight, feel great resolutions. So come workout with us! And it’s for a great cause. We’ll have door prizes and light snacks/drinks for purchase as well.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Joanne K. Antonio & the Frank K. K. Meyers scholarships. The scholarships are given on the behalf of the Antonio/Meyers ʻohana and only offered to graduating seniors of Nānākuli High & Intermediate School applicants.

We hope you folks can join us for this awesome event!
