E Ola Pono HCH will focus on solving Hawaiian issues and views by living harmoniously together. INTRODUCTION
E OLA PONO, HAWAIIAN CULTURAL HOME (“HCH”) is a non-profit organization that is making a difference through physical action to bring people together. E Ola Pono HCH will focus on solving Hawaiian issues and views by living harmoniously together, as the Kanaka did before us. Through the livi
ng and acceptance of others, we will see understand how to: live together, make a positive impact, and fight for our land through education, helping others, and sustainable living in today's society. Through living we will also find solutions on positive Hawaiian influence to understand how to unite as a people. STRATEGIC STRAEGIES
Strategic Priority: ‘Āina (Land)
To maintain the connection to the past and a viable land base, Native Hawaiians will participate in and benefit from responsible stewardship of Ka Pae ‘Āina O Hawai’i. We will connect and resource not only in our ahupua'a but also with other islands. We clearly line this out in our agenda and programs. Strategic Priority: Mo’omeheu (Culture)
To strengthen identity, Native Hawaiians will preserve, practice and perpetuate their culture. We will do this by connecting with other expertises, businesses and non-profits. Our board and members will also volunteer in other programs to learn others expertise and expand on knowledge. Learning is a value that needs to be continued throughout our lifetime. Strategic Priority: Ho’okahua Waiwai (Economic Self-Sustaining)
To have choices and a sustainable future, Native Hawaiians will progress towards greater economic self-sufficiency. Currently, there is no unity on how the economy can be a self-sustaining nation, however, people have started to learn how to self-sustain independently. We want to grow on this ideal and learn how to implant Hawaiian culture in order to instill independence within our nation. We truly believe that change starts small, with gathering of information and lifestyle; we can grow to become a self-sustaining nation. Strategic Priority: Ho’ona’auao (Education)
To maximize choices of life and work, Native Hawaiians will gain knowledge and excel in educational opportunities at all levels. Education is the basis of making changes. This is a foundation that will never be lost and continue to grow. You can come to learn through talk, reading and action.
