FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUDITION NOTICE!

Storybook Theatre to Celebrate William Shakespeare’s Birthday!


Calling All Actors To Auditions at Puhi Theatrical Warehouse on February 17th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm for performing in scenes from popular Shakespeare Comedies, Sonnets, & Soliloquies at Shakespeare’s Birthday Party.

Auditions will include cold readings from scripts that are provided or actors are invited to bring their own for presentation.

Scenes will be cast and rehearsed for performances in celebration of Shakespeare’s 457th birthday in Historic Hanapepe town on Friday, April 23rd at Storybook Theatre’s outdoor stage and other town locations.

The event will honor and remember “Hawaii’s World-Class Actor” Terrance Knapp of University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Kennedy Theatre.

A message to our supporters:

WIT has been producing plays on Kauai for the last twenty years. Our mission has been to provoke, inspire and share the joy of live theatre with audiences and performers alike.



This year has presented the entire world with challenges that would daunt any organization, so the WIT Board of Directors has made the decision to go on hiatus – to take some time to reconsider our mission and how it can be met as we move into a future that is necessarily redefining what public gatherings can actually, safely be.

We look forward to great theater in 2021, along with new leadership in our newly appointed President, Claudia Cowden.

Join us next weekend for auditions for 4,3,2 Gun! An original play written by WIT's own Board Member, Frank Reilly. Cast to include:

Benjamin 40 up
Connie Early 30s
Brian Early 20s

Stage Manager Any age / Gender
Person on cellphone Any age / Gender

4, 3, 2, Gun
Four actors up on stage.
Get to know them. They’ve each got their own story. Their own hopes and dreams.
What else? Three chairs to sit on. Two throw pillows as props. A wide range of roles for each
of the four to play across a handful of one-act shorts – all in one, fun-filled evening.
