This book was originally created to be a resource to support Ukrainian refugees in healing and processing their experiences of loss and trauma, but after two years into the creation of The Shepherd's Book, my dear friend Raquel and I have found it to be a beautiful and impactful resource for people of many different cultures, ages, and stages of life.
Drawing on Raquel's experience in art therapy, my years as a chaplain serving children in foster care, and our shared experience working with individuals from diverse trauma backgrounds, we recognized that the words and themes of Psalm 23, paired with prayer, would bring healing to wounded hearts.
This workbook invites you on a journey through the Bible with thought-provoking prompts that offer:
💭 a fun and creative way to process your story that inspires personal awareness and change
💭 growth in self-worth and confidence from the Word of God
💭 a therapist-recommended way to help process trauma, pain, and grief
💭a place to envision God's plans and purpose for your life
💭a way to bring spiritual and relational health
This book is currently being translated into three languages and has already found its way into the hands of teen refugees in the Middle East. Even more countries and people groups are part of the plans ahead! I am profoundly grateful to everyone who has contributed, believed in, and supported this project.
Our hope is that it will bring healing and peace to all who are willing to open their hearts to the Good Shepherd.
Feel free to give this as a gift to family, friends, small groups, etc and support this work.
Love, Bethany
