Ecstatic Dance Kansas City happens TWICE a month. The first Sunday morning/afternoon of the month and usually the third Friday evening of the month. Please check the 2025 FLYER posted in the photos section for the full list of all dance dates and times for the year! Our location is Greenwood Social Hall ~ a GORGEOUS space that was once a church in the 1920's! The pews left, but the spirit stayed!
We are so grateful for this magical dance home. The Details:
Cost: $25 (includes yoga, dancing and all the coffee & tea you could ever wish for! (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or cash accepted). Fresh and organic food/drinks created by Chelsea's Karmic Kitchen are payed to her separately. We also have massage by a licenced massage therapist available (also payed to them seperately).

History of Ecstatic Dance:
Ecstatic Dance (with it's roots in 5 rhythms) was birthed in Hawaii in the year 2000, and is now a world-wide movement found in almost every major city. It combines the freedom of a festival experience with the awareness of a conscious dance practice. The Ecstatic Dance guidelines (listed above) are Universal guidelines. Although each Ecstatic Dance around the globe is unique, these guidelines connect the web of all Ecstatic Dances together as one. Our Schedule Flow:
We open up with yoga to wake up and stretch our bodies followed by a two hour dance journey fascilitated by a professional DJ held in a safe space for you to express yourself freely and fully. We end things with a sound healing or breathwork. This is sacred space for you to be your unique authentic self in an open, loving, judgement-free container that celebrates you for being you! Thank you with all my heart for your continued support. Ecstatic Dance KC just turned 9 years old! Blows my mind! This community started out as a little seed that has been consistently tended to, watered and nourished by all of us as this is a co-creation. Our dance family keeps growing, evolving and thriving. It brings tears of joy to my eyes and keeps me constantly in awe of the magic we have all manifested together. Wow...
When Ecstatic Dance first found me back in 2008 ~ I had this instant feeling of coming home when I walked into Sweets ballroom in Oakland California. The fire was ignited within me and has burned bright ever since bringing blessing after blessing. The gifts of this practice and community have been onging and profound. It is my absolute joy and pleasure to share this magic as it has changed my life in truly countless positive ways. This is my welcome home to you.
