A week and a half of trying to get this pool clear from well water fill. 3 metal out treatments and 3 shocks. I added ph down yesterday morning because it was running high from what pool store testing showed. I shocked last night and this is the morning results. My Polly fill bucket and filter are actively catching the rust. Ai is telling me to treat for high phosphate tomorrow, and it could possibly be swimming ready by Friday. Any tips please! I have no idea what I’m doing.

Just wanted to share what we did to keep our steps down in the pool as opposed to them floating! My husband took PVC pipe, cut them to about 3 feet or so(he measured the width of the steps), filled them with sand and then used PVC pipe cement glue to seal caps on the ends. We have a total of 12 and slid them in to the openings on each step, placing 4 on each step. I am not sure what the weight is of each one but, the steps stay down very well now and do not move around at all! Super simple and cheap way to to it! I didn't feel like rolling my solar cover up so you can zoom in the picture and see the pipes sticking out from the steps. Happy pool day👙🏊‍♀️🤿🩳🌊

I insist on cutlery being place correctly in the drawer.
Left = Forks
Centre = Knives
Right = Spoons.
This way you only have to partly open the drawer and you can take the correct number of forks, knives and spoons just by grabbing the handles.
Ever since 1967 when I was six I have insisted on other people I live with sticking to the right order. I was born in London and the ONLY correct way is Forks, Knives, Spoons. This is alphabetical order.
When I moved to Sweden in 1988 and got married I changed the random order my in-laws had and my wife's other relations. Luckily the Swedish translation for "Forks, Knives, Spoons" is "Gafflar, Knivar, Skedar" so alphabetical order works in both languages.
I could never have emigrated to a country that had a non-compliant translation and I would not have married her if she had not accepted this order.
This feels like an irrelevant post because I expect everyone is in tune with this. Aren't you?

Dear fellow Dull,
Sitting here analysing the psychology of my washing line. Although my garden is very private, there’s a slight chance the right- hand washing line can be seen. Therefore I put all my “good” clothes on that. Further down the line are my daughter’s clothes, which are all cute and not washed out or anything. As you get to the bottom line, running across the garden, there’s almost no chance anyone can see. Initially I’ve been a bit random with items on this line. As we move to the left, however, I’ve felt confidently secure enough to hang the dish towels. Finally, tucked away in the most unlikely to be seen section is underwear. There.
And now I’ve posted a picture and everyone can see it all anyway. Oh well.

I’m self conscious about my 75 year old upper arms, to the degree that I’ve worn 3/4 length or long sleeves since around 1997!!! When I was a teacher, I stopped writing on the chalkboard (yes, I’m that old) when my flabby arms started to wave to my students. I began using an overhead projector. We’re in the middle of a heat wave right now. I had lunch plans today, and just decided I’ve had enough!! I put on my favorite tee and owned it! No, not attractive. I felt exposed at first, but I’m going to try harder to just be myself.
Thank you so much for the support and positivity! I have worn short sleeves everyday, since it’s still very hot. Nobody screamed, nobody ran away, nobody died. I’m planning to wear a tee shirt to a family gathering tomorrow.

Long time reader, first official post, couple weekends ago, this Dull Lady, had a great idea, hey I'll clean out part of the kitchen cupboards, it will only take a couple hours, it took all day, what a bad idea, lol, so I left this mess on the table for a day. Took a while to figure out what to keep and how to organize it all. I won't be doing that again, anytime soon. No bananas to be found in that cupboard, but I did find over 13 strainers. Shoe size 9 ish.

Just got a new pool the insulation guy I asked what should I put along the pool where they dug it out. He said just to fill it with the dirt after the pool sets for a few days after being filled. I was worried about it rusting from moisture of the dirt. I asked could I put a drainage pipe an peebles stone an he said he wouldn’t recommend the rock! Would like to see other a what they used.
