Gold & Geometric for Sale
9x12 Acrylic and Mixed Media Paper
$50 each

Gold on black is such a striking and classic combination and I love how they look together. These two pieces were so relaxing and meditative to create. This is the kind of art I turn to when my brain needs to slow down and take a break. Slowly drawing each line and imagining the artwork framed and hanging in someone’s home fills me with peace and joy. I hope it fills you with the same kind of positive feelings ✨

$44!!! That’s how much will be donated to the National Crisis Lifeline from the September Etegami Su***de Prevention Awareness Series! That’s a great number for a month that only has 30 days in it!

A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported this series with a purchase, share, comment, or like. This series meant so much to me and I was blown away by all the support for it. 💕💕

You matter. You matter. You matter.

That can never be said too much. Because it’s all too easy to forget when we are deep in the dark in the midst of our struggle. But even in that deep dark place, you matter. When you are doing great and are on top of the world, you matter then too.

You matter not because of who you are or who you know. Not because of how much you succeed or how much you struggle. You matter just because you exist. Just because you are. You matter.

Done. Not perfect.

This phrase I learned from my art mentor, Shelby at Little Coffee Fox. She taught me that it is better to have a piece of art done than have it be perfect. This is something I still struggle with when it comes to art, but I have found this phrase to be helpful in many other areas of my life.

It’s so easy to get stuck in that loop of perfectionism and never even start a task, let alone finish one. We can get hung up by the idea of doing something perfectly. Maybe it’s starting a meditation or writing in your journal. Maybe it’s taking your medication or keeping your appointment with your therapist. Whatever it is, it is much better to have it be done than it is to have it be perfect.

Accept yourself just as you are.

Accepting ourselves can often be difficult. We always want to change something before we are okay with who we are. Be better at this or be less of that. But acceptance is part of healing. We need to accept ourselves just as we are in this moment.

Acceptance doesn’t mean total approval. It means acknowledging that this is who you are right now and that is okay. Maybe the person you are right now is struggling with their mental health. Acceptance means acknowledging that and knowing that it is okay. Maybe the person you are right now is hurting from a past event. Acceptance means acknowledging that and knowing that it is okay. Whatever your struggle, acceptance of where you are at right now is the start of your healing.

Give yourself time to heal.

When we are in the midst of crisis, we want an immediate fix. We want the hurt to heal and be better right away. An instantaneous solution. But that is not how healing works. Healing takes time.

When you are working on healing your mental hurts, remember that the process is a long one. A marathon instead of a sprint. It’s easy to get frustrated with yourself because you aren’t better yet, but remember that healing will happen. It just takes time. Be patient and give yourself grace as you go through the process of recovery and healing. Remember that healing doesn’t mean getting back to who you were before your struggle. It’s becoming someone more resilient, more adaptable. Give yourself the time you need to heal.

Take a moment to remember: there is help, there is hope.

Sometimes when we find ourselves in our darkest moments, we can forget that there are people willing to help us out of that darkness. That there is hope that we can break through the darkness and find some light again.

Help can come in many different forms. I have found tremendous help through drawing and painting. Creative hobbies are a wonderful tool for your mental health! Family and friends that understand your struggles and can help you through them can also be sources of help and hope of brighter days. One of the most important resources for help is The National Crisis Lifeline. You can reach them by calling/texting 988. They can help in a crisis but they can also help if you are lonely, scared, or just need someone to talk to. They are an amazing resource you can use any time you need help with your mental health.
These kinds of helpful resources bring hope that brighter days are ahead. They are the kinds of things that will help break you out of that darkness and help you find the light again.
