Poetic Underground is your spot for weekly poetry events in Kansas City, Missouri. Poetic Underground is dedicated to using poetry as a healing and community-building tool to create a safe space where artists can gather in Kansas City. -ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION-
Accessible Entrance: YES. An accessible entrance is in the front of the building. Automatic Doors: NO. There will likely be folks around to open any doors for you if you require assistance. Accessible Bathrooms: There is one step-free, non-gendered bathroom with room for a wheelchair. However, it does not have grab bars. Lighting: The space is lit with several kinds of lights throughout the entirety of the space, we may or may not keep them all on for the duration of the show. Audio: We will have music playing before and after the show. There will be several performers of varying pitches and tones speaking, shouting, or whispering into a microphone. Our audience will get loud, with clapping between performers, as well as snaps/stomps/heckles/hoots/etc during each performance. Interpreters: NO. We have not booked ASL interpreters for events.
