𝕆𝕦𝕣 𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕘𝕚𝕟 𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪: It all started in 1969. The four of us were teenage runaways that weren’t allowed to date..so we left home with our records & kittens and headed to the train station. Our pennies took us to Kansas City, MO. We hopped off the train and quickly became hypnotized by a sound coming from a dark alley..we followed it to find a swinging Go-Go nightclub playing groovy sounds from the jukebox. We wandered in and danced all night-but we couldn’t afford our Shirley Temples at the end of the evening. The mafia was already after us for breaking up with the boss’s sons (& a daughter!)-so we had to settle this tab. It was life or death! We offered to play records live for the party-goers to satisfy the debt. The owner reluctantly agreed but when the needle dropped, the scene intensified! Fueled by the tunes and our love for the nightlife, Royalettes Vinyl Club was born!
