KC Clay Guild KC Clay Guild is a community focused ceramic arts center for all. We are one block east of Wornall on 74th Street.

KCCG is a not for profit community ceramics studio in the heart of Waldo neighborhood in Kansas City. Started in the winter of 1988, KC Clay Guild has grown from a small group of potters wanting to share information and materials into a thriving ceramics center. KCCG offers adult and childrens classes in handbuilding and wheel-throwing for any ability level or age.

From where we started to where we are today. 🧡

KC Clay Guild has called a few places home over the years. From our very first space, to our longtime home on 74th street in Waldo, and now to our newly renovated building at 39th and Broadway, each chapter has been shaped by the artists, students, volunteers, members and supporters who believe in the joy of clay and community.

This weekend we are celebrating our next chapter.

Join us September 12 and 13 for our Grand Opening Weekend and explore our new home. Tour the building, meet our community, watch artist demonstrations, get your hands in clay and celebrate how far we’ve come.

We couldn’t have made it here without our community and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

Our Director and Studio Manager spent the morning unpackaging, disassembling, and moving the three ROHDE Ecotop 95, 250, & 300 kilns to our lower kiln room. These kilns will be used by our Artists in Residence and studio renters on the lower level. We were really impressed with how easy it was to take apart the kiln - the electrical box folds all the way open and just three connectors enabled us to completely remove the box. We put the sturdy kiln stand in its lower position to make the kilns a little easier to load. Looking forward to firing these soon!
