Hope springs eternal on opening day. The day where childlike excitement takes hold of every baseball fan and turns them into their 10 year old self in hopes of ticker tape raining down on their streets of their hometown team. It was only fitting to feature, “The Great Bambino,” on this day as another season kicks off.

“Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception 2024 Addition”

It is always an honor to submit a piece each year to help raise funds my home parish downtown. I have been painting a lot more than drawing lately, so I decided to submit an oil painting as opposed to the colored pencils and chalk pastels from previous years.

This painting features the new addition beige building and statue of Mary and Jesus) that was added on at the end of last year and is a new look for the grounds to go with the famous gold dome of the cathedral that has been standing since 1883.

I have been getting a lot of requests for prints and am able to provide one for those that are interested. Please direct message me for further details.

Stopped and appreciated the “Steeple of Light” lining up with the badminton game happening on the lawn. Caught this image after a visit to last week. So many of the greatest artists to ever live are right in our backyard including my personal favorite (second image), “St. John the Baptist in the Wilderness,” which is one of six Caravaggio painting in the entire US.

A fun one from earlier this year. My coworker, Tom, mentioned his daughter was into art so I requested a piece of anything she wanted to do. She drew this awesome picture of a dog w hearts for me so I decided to use her idea as inspiration and return the gift in my style as well. Nothing like a child’s creativity to help expand our own minds.

Earlier this summer I attended Electric Forest in Michigan and was an amazing experience. Some of my favorite people encouraged me to come along and am glad I listened. The music, the art, the serenity of the outdoors, and most importantly the people. This was a gift for for picking me up from the airport, having such a beautiful soul, and being a part of my life ever since.

For this piece, I used watercolor (which is a rarity for me) in order to best capture the blue sky and towering trees that acted as a canopy of calm wherever we went.

Here is a drawing of union station I did back in 2023. An old coworker, Sonny, worked over 40 years for the railroad and saw it fitting to give to him on his last day working with us.
