Last week marked the completion of a mural at the University of Kansas Proton Therapy Center in Kansas City, and it was such a meaningful project to be part of.
During the design process, we talked about the colorful murals along 39th Street, uplifting words of encouragement, and creating a space filled with hope and joy. This is where pediatric patients ring the bell to celebrate the end of their treatment journey—a moment that deserves to be surrounded by something special.
The bell is nestled into the mural where an artist elephant is beginning to paint the wall, with a yellow cancer ribbon flowing across it like the first fresh brushstrokes on a blank canvas—a symbol of new beginnings, strength, and hope.
It was truly a pleasure working with the incredible team at the University of Kansas Proton Therapy Center, and a huge thank you to the crew at Sign Co. for bringing the mural to life with such care and craftsmanship.
My hope is that this artwork, along with the joyful sound of the bell, brings comfort, celebration, and smiles to every patient, family, and staff member who passes by. 💛🎨🔔
