Where are my travel lovers at? ✈️

The summer I graduated from college, my dad was awarded a grant for a three month sabbatical. So my parents, three brothers, sister-in-law, and I got to travel western Europe together. It was the trip of a lifetime.

I love experiencing new cultures. I've been to 15 countries, but my favorite city - by far - is Rome. History is everywhere, and the people are so hospitable! (And the food isn't bad either. 😜)

Voicing Travel Guide TV Narration is an easy "YES" for me. It's not hard to give that expert/excited "Trust me - you've gotta check this out" read when you love to explore new places!

The more we see the world, the more we grow.

You've heard it before: If we don't learn from history, we're doomed to repeat it.

It's one reason I LOVE narrating historical documentaries: I want to do my part in bringing change.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German Lutheran pastor, theologian, and anti-N**i dissident who was executed in the Flossenburg concentration camp in 1945.

He not only spoke out against the opposing viewpoints of the N**i party, but against his own colleagues who shared his Christian faith.

Now that's conviction and courage.

The longer I collaborate on media projects with my voice, the more I'm convinced there is NO ROOM FOR EGO. ❌

Why?

It's not about me. It's not about you either.

It's about serving the end client's needs.

So while we both may have creative ideas of how this media project ends up, we need to hold those ideas so loosely that they can be scrapped at any moment - or built upon - without feeling personally attacked.

That's the sound of collaboration. And it makes the creative process magical. 💫

Entering a new genre of voiceover is a big deal for a voice actor.

Each genre is different, so we have to learn the nuances of that particular category. It takes coaching from industry pros and lots of practice. And when you're ready, you get a professional demo made to showcase your ability.

🥁 So here it is! Woohoo!

Over the past year of coaching in Documentary/TV Narration, I have grown to really love this long form of storytelling.

💡My biggest takeaway from this genre?
Your beautiful film is the essence of the story; the voiceover is simply the salt that brings out the intended flavor.
