we’re excited to announce is coming to Third Friday Art Walk this season, an interactive art installation with the opportunity to collaborate with the artist in decorating this piece!

about the piece:
“This is an untitled piece made for a music and art festival in 2012 and has been set up at a few events since. It consists of three wooden crosses covered in white sheets to resemble kites, joined at the arms to form an offset tripod structure. The piece is about 15’ wide and 20’ long and stands up to ~14’. It is large enough for several people to walk under and through at the same time. I’ve considered calling it Hope Still Flies. This is an interactive piece meant for people to engage with and respond to.”

Location: Kansas City, KS
Compensation: $19-$22/hr (DOQ)
Hours: Part-time, up to 30 hrs/week

In this role, you will:
- Execute one of the most exciting arts & culture events in KCK
- Connect with local artists, vendors, and performers to create a dynamic event lineup
- Work with our Community Engagement Team which includes EPIC Clay Studio and other art initiatives
- Be at the heart of community and creativity in KCK

The Third Friday Art Walk Holiday Market is TODAY, December 5 — and we’re bringing all the cozy vibes to 6th Street.

From 5–8 PM, wander between shops with a warm drink, say hello to neighbors, and enjoy a relaxed evening filled with local art, thoughtful gifts, and holiday spirit. This night highlights the heart of our neighborhood — small businesses and artists whose work makes KCK feel welcoming and connected.
