GO CHIEFS!!!

And, while I have your attention, PROJECT 14 year SEVEN!!!!!

What: FREE Photoshoot for couples facing cancer (currently or in the past)
Date: February 24, 2024
Time: 1-4 p.m.
Location: Restoration 1894 Event Space

So many of you have supported this project, year after year, and I'm so grateful. I'm also SO thrilled to be having it at the Restoration 1894 Event Space again this year!

Many of you already know about this, but if you don't...keep reading. :)

This was started 7 years ago as a way to honor my dad's life, and also his journey with colorectal cancer. The goal was to highlight the love and devotion of couples facing cancer, because I witnessed firsthand the strength of my parents' relationship as they fought this together. Named Project 14 because of the timing of my dad's death, Valentine's Day, and the bible verse Exodus 14:14, this day consists of free photoshoots (as well as goodie bags with date nights, treats, etc) for couples facing cancer, either in the present or in the past.

If you want to be part of P14 this year, just message me! That's all! 🙂 If you know someone who could be blessed by this, tag them, or share it with them!

WANT TO HELP?! In addition to the photo shoot, I also put together a goodie bag full of treats, date nights, and all sorts of goodies to celebrate these couples. I gratefully accept donations as well as treats from local businesses, so if you want to help, please message me!!!

Love you all and thanks for supporting this project of mine, over and over again. It is truly so near and dear to my heart!

(If you're wondering a little more what Project 14 is all about, I've posted two films from the first two years of the project in the comments. Thank you Cory Thomason, Photographer & Videographer for helping me to tell the story!)

SO many people have been asking me if I'm still doing photography; the answer is YES!!! However, I've been just terrrrrible about posting/promoting on social media. So....I thought I'd spread the word about these super fun senior sessions that I'm doing again this summer! These are shorter, morning sessions for seniors who want to get their photos checked off the list while they still have that summer tan. 😉 I'm only doing these for the next few weeks, until school starts, so they fill up fast! Please contact me with any questions or to set up an appointment! Hope you all are having a beautiful and blessed summer!!

I've learned that life is a gift: every single breath. And, each year, I get a fresh reminder of how true that is. I'm SO excited to share with you those that participated in Project 14 last weekend. Not every couple is included in this post, for various reasons, but please join me in loving and praying for these courageous souls and their families. ❤️

It's no secret that I'm a long-winded person, so of course I could write a novel about how thankful I am for the people and businesses who have supported Project 14 this year. To have it grow each year and be able to spoil these precious people more and more each time just makes my heart explode.

SO...I wanted to give a shout out to all those who donated and helped with this year's project. And to give you a visual, here are the thank you notes. ;)

THANK YOU to the businesses who donated: Restoration 1894 Event Space, Etch Life, Overflow Coffee House, Fish Out of Water Custom Cookies, Jefferson House Bed & Breakfast, Belger Art Studio, Shoal Creek Golf Course, Green Lantern Car Wash (Liberty), Hello Sugar Custom Cookies, Chick Fil A (Lees Summit, MO), and Kauffman Center of Performing Arts.

THANK YOU to the sweet individuals who donated money and/or items to spoil these precious people: Connie Harmson, Nikki Moore, Emily Martinez, Shelley Boulware, Lisa Alemi, Gwen Rocha, Steve Myrick, Caitlin DeSalvo, Tammy Billharz, Heather Buckman, Brooke Gibson, Angie Roeder, Jenny Burkhead, Daniel Jeppesen, Maria Mackey, Teresa Thompson, Lora Gott, Sharon Patsch, Necole Luce, Phyllis Bell

THANK YOU to my sweet former Project 14 couples who paid it forward: Chad & Amanda Brown, MIke & Kim Skinner, Mary Warrior, Sherri Gorman, Mariah & Tanner Littrell, Travis & Amy Toebben

THANK YOU to all of YOU for your endless prayers and support.

Couldn't have done it without you all. ❤️

📷❤️ Project 14 & Life Update: Last week, our sweet Zoey went down with the flu. Ezra followed, and mom and dad shortly thereafter. The kids got the brunt of it, and it definitely could have been worse, but after much thought and prayer, I've decided to reschedule Project 14 to next weekend, the 15th. Even though most of our symptoms are light and hopefully on their way out by now, many of these couples are currently undergoing treatment and it's just not worth taking any chances. We are going to rest up, get well, and have a blast celebrating these couples next weekend. God bless you all!! ❤️❤️

Ok guys...just wanted to put out the word if anyone is interested in helping me bless my Project 14 couples next weekend. This can happen in a number of ways, so rather than get too long winded, if you'd like to help, please message me or comment below and I'll get to you soon! ❤️❤️ Project 14 couples--prepare to be SPOILED! Just like you deserve!!!!
