My new painting "Three Shades of Red". oil/canvas, 15x30. Depicts my opposite feelings currently I was going on through many stressful events for the rest of couple months. This is why my painting has contrast colors. Every subject has a shadow that is a result of mixing that color with red.

"The Short Road of Life" - oil on canvas, 24x36
Dedicated to Iryna Zarutska's memory

Three roads symbolize her life journey:
rails representing her past
a trail for her homeland Ukraine
an American flag for the future she never reached
Wildflowers grow where each road ends.
Sunflowers represent Ukraine and its tragic loss.
One broken sunflower lies on the railroad
symbolizing a beautiful life cut short.

What could have been? A wedding day never celebrated, children never born... A daughter, sister, friend forever lost.
Will we ever celebrate Christmas with our loved ones again?

February and March Natalia Leigh – Painting Natalia uses symbols to communicate the many aspects of a person's life with vivid colors and symbols of hope, love, and prosperity with the purpose of producing positive feelings. She believes that art can bring about the change we all seek in this world. The method and technique used is oil on black canvas. For Natalia, the black canvas represents her depiction of the beginning of life. When a seed is sown into the soil where it is dark and void of color, it will grow out, turning into colors with sun’s warmth. Painting on black canvas allows the colors to emerge and grow into the picture in her mind’s heart. Natalia is a nurse and works from her studio in Kannapolis, NC.
