SAVE THE DATE! You’re invited to the opening of our Third Quarter Exhibition, “Harvest Hues,” on July 17, 2025, 5:30 p.m. at the Kane County Hospital Lobby.

This exhibit brings the community together with a big gathering of local artists showing their work featuring fall colors in Kanab.

Local artists, take note!

OPEN CALL FOR ART EXHIBITION

We are changing things up! For the Kanab Arts Board (KAB) Third Quarter Exhibition we have the theme "Harvest Hues." All local artists, whether you have exhibited with us or not, may enter. This is an EARLY announcement, so you can start your art now if you are creating something new!

Criteria for submission:

1.) Your artwork must have the color palette that is reflective of autumn or fall harvest;
2.) Maximum of two-three artworks per artist;
3.) Artwork should be appropriate for all viewers; and
4.) For artists who have exhibited with us before, the artwork must NOT have been in any previous KAB Exhibitions.

Email a photo of each artwork with your artist profile to [email protected] on or before JUNE 1st. Please put "HARVEST HUES" in the subject line. The earlier we have your photos and info, the better. The exhibition will show from July 17-Sept 25 at the Kane County Hospital and Kanab City Library Lobbies.

There is no fee to enter this exhibition. This is a free event for our community. All other details will be sent to the artist directly after we receive your email.

If you haven't seen this quarter's art show at the Kane County Hospital, make sure you get down there soon, as the last day of the show is October 3rd. The show features an eclectic mix of art from a group of women artists in Kanab that I belong to known as the Creative Crones. Art is in the reception area and in the hallway leading to the lab.

ART WITH HEARTEXPRESSING KINDNESS, COMPASSION AND RESPECT FOR ALL LIFE

It has taken me some time to do an update on the Adobe Gallery. In early March, we closed due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, and have remained closed since. After much thought, I have determined that the sensible course of action is to sell the property housing the Gallery, and move it at a later date to our other property. My husband and I have put the beautiful little gallery, which also happens to be a beautiful little house, on the market. My husband and I decided to launch our long delayed project to add on to our residence with a studio/gallery and build a separate shop for our business, Joy in Wood Furnituremakers, on the same property. It is my intention to re-open the Adobe Gallery, with a new name, when we have the addition completed and we have ourselves reinstalled. The attached photo features my husband, Rich, working on our new space.

In the meantime, I have had the best of times running this community gallery, immensely enjoying the visiting artists and their awesome art. Sharing art, refreshments, good conversation and just plain fun with art lovers and supporters who attended our receptions, garden parties and events in conjunction with the local artwalks. I look forward, in safer times, to once again offering a venue for more enjoyment of local art, artists and community.
