Light elates me, color anchors me and creating completes me. In scripture it says, “Your eyes are the windows to your soul.” I take great joy in seeing creation, finding the beautiful in the simple, studying the form of an object and noticing how colors, shapes and light interact with each other to form art all around us and then translating that onto canvas.”
Mixed-media artist, Jill Holland was
raised in Baton Rouge, LA and currently resides in Fredericksburg, TX. In addition to being a professional full-time working artist, wife and mother of two, Holland is the founder of multiple successful foundations and artistic initiatives in her home-town. To name a few, Jill was the founder of First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg, The Fredericksburg Art Guide, and her own community arts education center, The Yellow Door Studio. Holland’s work typically depicts hints of landscapes in abstract form, leaving room for the imagination to tell its own story. She gains inspiration from scripture, travels, and in large part from nature. Following no rules, Jill uses a very wide range of mediums, usually mixing them together to achieve a desired effect. Holland has been painting professionally for 17 years, and has been in numerous individual and group shows around the country. Holland’s paintings have been seen on episodes of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and The WB’s Lying Games. Look for her work in the 2016 untitled Terrence Malick lm featuring Ryan Gos- ling, Rooney Mara, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Holly Hunter, and Benicio Del Toro. Jill has sold thou- sands of paintings that reside in private and corporate collections both nationally and internationally.
