October is always a fun month with two birthdays in our house. Ben & Jay have been such an example of brotherhood. A year and a week apart they have grown up the best of buddies. They’re both adults now, my how time flies, this Mama couldn’t be prouder of who they are and the lives they are creating for themselves. I think the fact that they’re both way taller then me now is crazy. Don’t blink! 🥹🎂❤️

I really love the dynamics harmonies create within the music and the power they have to enhance the experience and emotion we want to portray. I spend the majority of my time focusing on leads in my own music life, so lending harmonies and finding nuances that add flare and depth to someone’s performance is new to me and super gratifying. I have an insatiable desire to learn, grow and want to soak up every aspect of this performance life I can. Harmonies push me to pay attention to supportive dynamics, volume, pitch, tone and watch for subtleties and cues to enhance. Exposure to different types of performance outside my own project is a happy byproduct of all of the above! There is something pretty special that happens in those moments, to gently creep in and lift/surround the lead vocals-feeling someone else’s heartbeat and rhythm,… I wonder if waves on the shore feel this way around the moonlight? 🌙

When kick ass local bands say “Lauren, you should come sing some tunes with us.” let’s be real, it isn’t candy that will tempt me into a Van ya’ll,.. It’s a trail of music notes!! 🤣 🎣
Jam sessions are the best. I have a heart full of gratitude this evening that you fine musicians think I’m cool enough to wanna include. 🥹❤️🎶
