Composed by Rufus Ferguson, Jordan Hamilton, and Carmen Bell, Tangled Roots is an original Juneteenth opera inspired by the slave narratives collected through the Federal Writers' Project between 1936 and 1938.

We’re proud to support AuthenticOpera Co., Face Off Theatre Company, and the Kalamazoo College Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership in presenting this Juneteenth performance. We hope you’ll join us this Friday, June 19, at 7 p.m. at Dalton Theatre at Kalamazoo College.

🎹 Fun fact: Both Rufus and Jordan have previously worked with our Piano Labs education programs. A huge congratulations to them both on this remarkable work of art!
