A random Tuesday night at the Gilmore Theatre Complex. The sun goes down and the building lights up! 🌅

Every space is buzzing: technicians in a lighting call, actors in rehearsal, fight choreography in the studio, and a performance in final tech. At WMU you don’t wait until senior year to do the real work. You’re in it from day one.

Could your Tuesdays look like this? Auditions and portfolio reviews for Fall 2027 are coming up, so head to wmich.edu/theatre/admissions to get started. 💛

“The result, on opening night, was a riveting evening in the theatre that relied on simplicity as well as honest exchanges among actors. Staged in the round in the York Arena, this production drew an audience close in proximity, even closer emotionally, and left some of those attending in tears.“ - Gordon Bolar

Many thanks to the Western Herald for lifting up our beautiful production of Birthday Candles, playing through October 11. 😊

“The play shows how the blueprints for who we ‘should’ be are often rewritten by life's unpredictability. Endurance, transcendence and love become Ernestine’s real cosmic legacy.”

Thursday is pay what you can night at WMU Theatre- so there’s no reason not to go! 🎂

The WMU Theatre’s opening night Sept. 25 performance of “Birthday Candles” took audiences on a profound journey of laughter, deep sorrow and the many complex emotions in between.
