HEYYYYYY THERE! Happy Maraprimay?????
This post is me officially soft launching my return to on ✨FRIDAY, MAY 1ST✨ so write it down because itll be a doozie!

i have been waiting to talk about this one- so TUNE IN!

i dont plan out many of my paintings but this one was so fun! i was invited by the curator of this gallery, .speeks to be apart of it and it was such a fresh idea- i was all in. when i got my letter “T” i was struggling. my original idea was a “junk drawer” or “ispy” type vibe where i would just have a ton of small 4x5 - 5x7 paintings of things that started with t. over the course of several months- i didnt get very far with that. i hadnt been painting much and it was SO COLD OUT that it made it hard for me to be creative. i swear on that first 50°F day i was sitting in my office as i enjoyed seeing the sun for the first time and it CAME TO ME IN A VISION. i started scribbling it out on the nearest sticky note. i said outloud to my coworker, who had no idea what i was doing, “im a genius,” she accepted it with a simple “okay” and went back to work but i dont fault her she didnt know i struck gold.

in the end i came up with what i called “TAKE YOUR TIME!!!” including pieces, “Trout”, “Tom”, “Tick-Tock”, “T”, and “Tom’s Day Off” i hoped that there was a legible story in these pieces and also that maybe this piece would lure🎣 you in and keep you watching⌚️

FUN FACTS:
- Tom is a fly fisher but he also did catch the trout. He’s a very lucky guy.
- The clock is a real clock that tells real time!
- Each background was done using the trendy faux limewash technique.
- Tom is based off of a marketplace listing I saw of a “Rare Cat Cookie Jar”

what a nice day to dive into painting again! i haven’t done much of my art in an embarrassing amount of time- ive been busy👀🙈 but i spent some good time with friends yesterday and i think it woke me up a little- it also helps that the sun is shining today! (look at gaston in the background)

hello friends!! YESS IM TALKING TO YOU!!!!!! DIRECTLY!!! i am starting to feel hope again for the year, i dont know when my shows will amp up again, but can you tell me things youre looking forward to this year? ANYTHING art related or not :) ILL GO FIRST!!! i havent been painting a lot recently as ive been super inspired by photography- i am excited to transfer some of these new composition skills to my acrylic work :)

some may have seen this piece before. it was in the most recent gallery hosted by .files at the saniwax gallery in the park trade center.

this piece is my attempt at expressing the way i feel during the transition into the new year- especially this one. i feel as though i separate into segmented pieces of myself and examine every aspect of my being; the good, the bad, and the ugly. i try my best to come out a better person, carve away the pieces that dont serve me… but is this delicate process REALLY productive or is it self destruction draped in the guise of accountability and growth? how small can a bubble get before it pops?
