There’s something powerful about seeing our next generation proudly wearing lei, gathering in commUNITY and celebrating what it means to grow up in Hawaiʻi.

Mahalo to everyone who joined us for Lei Day x BLOOM and helped create a space filled with aloha, culture, mele, ʻohana, and connection. Photos like this remind us why these celebrations matter — because culture lives on when our keiki and ʻōpio can see themselves in it, feel proud of it, and carry it forward together.

Aloha kākou,

We want to address a concern regarding last night’s Kona Town Night Market, Lei Day x BLOOM.

As a nonprofit organization that has received County support, Lydia8 recognizes our kuleana to ensure that all events and activities remain neutral and do not promote or endorse any political candidate or campaign.

The County does not support or endorse any candidate for public office.

We apologize for the display of campaign banners and signs at last night’s event. Public funds are meant to support community programming, not political activity, and we take this kuleana seriously.

We are reviewing this matter and will take appropriate steps to ensure this does not occur in the future.
