Looking forward to the Pimax headset! Hopefully my 5K+ will be arriving soon. I’ve heard that it’s not perfect but it’s a great glimpse of the future of VR. Check out PimaxVR online to see what it’s all about.

Rise of The Tomb Raider has a VR mode...nuff said....NOT!

Yes, it does, and yes you should play it (you’d better have good hardware) but it’s a spin-off from the main game (though still worthy).

However! Are you ready to get technical? The ENTIRE MAIN GAME can be played in VR...If you get technical.

RoTTR has built-in Side By Side mode for the old 3D vision systems (remember those, lolz. Jk I like them too).

Here’s the skinny. Use Virtual Desktop (better performance) or BigScreen Beta (free) to play the game in SBS mode.
Pro-tips: set your monitor to an unsupported mode of 2560x1440@90hz for the smoothest playback. (Use steam VR desktop to get it apply unsupported config because your normal monitor will blank out.)

Then grab a usb game controller and buckle up!

Oh, search reddit for FOV fix for rise of the tomb raider. It will help big time.

As you may know I’m platform agnostic ( ! 🙂. But actually I like the tech and want all platforms to succeed and push us forward.
So, though I’d prefer everything on SteamVr, I still buy good stuff on Oculus home and play using Revive.

Thus, Brass Tactics. Currently an Oculus exclusive but I took the plunge on a recent sale and it plays brilliantly on Vive.

Review: really enjoyable Real Time Strategy in VR that I’ve even caught my significant other staying up late to play 😉

I’ve had a falling-out with my Vive. That’s why I haven’t posted in a while. Or rather, I’ve been IN the Fallout in my Vive and those darn raiders haven’t learned their lesson so... hold on..I’ll be right back! Just a little bit more...

Rating: janky sometimes, a little slow to get going, but oh-so-worth it for some EPIC moments.
+1 for Vive comfort mods (comment if you want details)

Currently VR-ing:

HOLOPOINT

After all this time, still a great game.
Rating: an original great.

Pros:
Compels you to move.
Great exercise.

Cons:
Could really use a wireless headset. Nothing will persuade you to lose yourself like this game.

In The Vive:
Getting for the cardboard apocalypse with Zombie Training Simulator.

Rating:
A TNT ton of fun and a definite classic. Worth picking up for a few fresh rounds.

Note: the dual 250 pistols are op!

Rating: Worth it, even though it could be much longer. Good humor, great scenarios. Native Vive and Rift support too.

Currently collecting some Raw Data

Rating: excellent. Getting more and more polished. Unlocking new abilities is so worth it and dropping turrets and defending alone is spooky and furious.

Batman Arkham VR

Thoughts: graphically amazing. A great first step--worth encouraging--that needs more content and action. It's Batman as the detective and that's pretty cool. It will leave you wanting more.

Rating: Wow! Awesome in VR!

Play mode: seated. With Xbox controller.

Not natively supported by Vive. Purchase from Steam, but Requires Revive plugin.
