Hawaiʻi Kuauli. More than a festival. A legacy.
One of the traditional names for our island, Hawaiʻi Kuauli honors Chief Hawaiʻi Nui Kuauli—a leader remembered for his deep connection to the ʻāina and his vision for a thriving, sustainable future. Under his leadership, the land flourished, the ocean provided, and the people lived in balance and abundance.
That legacy continues to inspire us today.
When we gather to dance, sing, share stories, and celebrate the cultures of the Pacific and Asia, we are doing more than preserving traditions—we are carrying forward the values of stewardship, unity, and aloha that Hawaiʻi Nui Kuauli embodied.
May we be reminded that culture is not only something we inherit, but something we are called to nurture, protect, and pass on to future generations.
This is Hawaiʻi Kuauli. A celebration of heritage. A commitment to community. A legacy that lives on.
