Have you ever seen an imu being prepared? 🔥

Come join us at Aloaliʻi every Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday from 8:00–9:00 AM for a family-friendly imu demonstration led by Men of Paʻa.

Watch the process from start to finish as the pōhaku are heated and the imu is layered with banana and tī leaves, while learning about the traditions and stories connected to this time-honored practice.

There will also be a Q&A and short moʻolelo along the way!

Bring the ʻohana and come experience this special tradition up close. 🌺

Come sit with us at Aloaliʻi and learn the art of lei making while learning about the cultural meaning behind lei as a symbol of aloha, respect, welcome, and love.

You’ll be guided by a local host and provided with fresh flowers, needle, and string to create a lei of your own to take home. 🌸
